10 Simple Ways to Hack the Brain

The human brain is the biggest asset of mankind. With its use, we have totally dominated our planet. Though we are incapable of flying or holding things with best claws as do other animals or run as fast as leopards do, due to our brain functions, we have clawed our way to the top of the evolutionary ladder. Despite its superb capabilities, our brain has its own limitations. These limitations often show up at worst times without notice and to our embarrassment.

Ways to Tame Our Brain To maximize its capability, the scientists are consistently working on the brain and are coming up with hacks to overcome its limits. They know that there is still a lot of information about the brain that has to be discovered. Through the research, they have come up with certain simple ways to overcome these limitations. These are time-tested ones. Here are ten ways you can hack your brain to your advantage, according to science.

1. Smiling Can Trick Our Brain Into Thinking We're Happy: Smiling always make the people around us happy. This is because the smile releases the feel-good chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin in our brain. Hence, the smiling dupes the brain to think that we are happy and brings down stress and anxiety in high-pressure situations, which, in turn, lowers blood pressure and helps us live longer.

2. Study In Spaced Intervals To Retain More Information: We need to feed the information to the brain in spaced intervals. This lets us retain more information than when we try to study continuously for a longer period of time. When we take a break in studies, our brain forms new neural connections to retain what is fed to it. This process needs time.

3. Chew Gum To Reduce Anxiety And Depression: We can chew the gun and reduce anxiety. The effects are more pronounced after two weeks of regular gum-chewing. People who chew gum are known to better tame the depression and fatigue as well.

4. The Aroma of Rosemary Improves Mental Ability: The usage of scented oil such as rosemary oil has got positive effects on the cognitive skills of our brain. The aroma of the oil awakens the brain into definitive action and brings more concentration on the work at hand.

5. Listen to Classical Music to Improve Learning: It is known from time immemorial that music improves the productivity of the brain. More precisely, classical music listening improves the power of concentration, which in turn improves the power of assimilation of knowledge.

6. Stop Yourself from Choking by Singing: There are times when we get confused and stuck when we are called out for a lecture or a talk. It is not because we do not know anything instead it was due to the fear of the audience. All that can be done is to sing a song in the mind to divert the mind or brain. If this is not possible in a meeting or in similar situations, we can focus on something else there in the venue or count backward.

7. Trick Your Brain into Thinking a Rubber Arm is Real: Keep a rubber hand glove near your right hand and go for the sleep. When you get up you tend to use the glove as if your brain has instructed to consider it as the right hand.

8. Use the Sun to Hallucinate: We can use the legal form of hallucinations to the re-excite human brain. As one physiologist of the 19th century had pointed out, it can be done with the help of sunlight. Looking at the sun with one closed eyes, we can start waving the hand on the other side for 20 minutes. Soon we will start seeing shapes in front of our eyes. The shapes depend upon the person. Anyhow, we can expect to see shapes like spirals, hexagons or squares. Similar hallucinations can be had if we place a white paper on the closed eyes and lie down under the bright white light in a room.

9. Use Gestures to Prepare for a Test: This is a known fact that some people need to write the learned things down on a piece of paper to impress them hard on to their memory. Some people do a session of yoga or meditation to rejuvenate their minds before embarking on their studying or learning session. These may or may not help in retaining the learned things in memory whereas the use of gestures while studying surely helps in retaining them in the memory.

10. Be More Attractive By Believing We Smell Good: Always applying scent is part of increasing the acceptability among the crowd, especially with women. This induces confidence in our mind and that would be visible in the way we deal with the people.

A fully functional brain has immense potential, of which only a tiny fraction is used for the intellectual functions, usually less than 5%. Hence, we need to train our brains to maximize their potential. This article lists different ways to improve the potential of the brain. How A Person Becomes A Success

Success is a quality that most of us desire, yet do we really know what success is? The concept is so broad. Imagine coming to a new country called the United States as a little boy and not even being able to walk on your feet when you are young. Then you require lots of medical attention and spend lots of time in a hospital setting. The very thought of being strapped to an operating table terrifies you. It scares you so much that you start to cry and you wonder when this nightmare is going to be over. After each surgery especially if there are several of them, you have to spend at least a good 8 weeks just to recover.

After all of the required medical attention, you most probably need physical therapy to improve the flexibility and coordination in your muscles and joints. Upon starting school as a child, you may become picked on and bullied by other kids. You may have trouble relating to others on a social level. But in spite of these challenges, you are very gifted and smart academically. All throughout your school career, you become a success and receive many awards for your good grades. You become well-liked by your teachers and many of your classmates. Even a loss in the student body elections for student secretary in middle school during the 7th grade does not deter you from wanting to succeed in school.

Upon graduating from high school, your academic prowess continues and you end up getting an undergraduate degree. You are then able to prove that you can hold a job successfully. Your employer sees your dedication and hard work and he or she also notices your value to the company. And even after you are laid off from your job, you can still see yourself as a success because you worked so hard to get to where you are today in spite of so many challenges and obstacles. Upon being laid off from your corporate job, you begin to explore other possibilities of jobs that you could do. Somehow, you end up studying Accounting, still feeling and believing that you are a success in your life. The story that was just told is a short version of the story of this writer and how he became a success. This narrative account shows what real success really is even if you lose your job and have been affected by a down economy.

Beyond Frustration, There Lies Reality

Persistence is beyond talent, as the reality of fulfilment is right beyond that last frustration and depression. Sure, as you can tell, this is going to be a major article about life and how to deal with it. So fasten your seat belts on this read, this is going to take you places you need to go, have to go, and give you a sight like you probably have not seen yet of yourself.

Sure, we all love to win, but initial losing and doing poorly at first is all part of the training until you do gain proficiency and skill.

Do you realize that the most efficient and wonderful value producers started out the most backward and seemingly losing people there were until they reversed their trend and worked at it with persistence, trial, error and realistic overcoming? Sure, I could make this article about "just think positive and you will achieve!", but who needs more of that. Sure, I could make this article an easy one to read. Is life ever easy to experience without work, persistence, and doing something about it, though?

Let me answer that question with a loaded "not at all": Sure, we would all love all the advantages and ease without the work, even those great people who genuinely work at it all sometimes want that when they get frustrated and cannot "strike up greatness at their instant command" and have to master it with persistence, hard work and genuine understanding.

Even with "all the advantages from birth" work has to be done without exception. Think deeply about that before you go on.

My Dad once told me this in essence, many of the exact words, a few I am paraphrasing into proper English, but anyhow it is pretty accurate: "You are gifted son, but I am not going to force them gifts out of you, you have to make the decision to develop those gifts and work at it always. Sure, I could beat the gifts out of you like Michael Jackson and his group of brothers Dad did, but, what would that be worth? A few million or billion dollars at the most in value or dancing on a television or movie screen? I am preparing you for what is real, and worth much more anyway." The words in italics were his exact words as I genuinely remember them. But I had to paraphrase most of what he said, because I remember him using idioms, some inappropriate language and improper English, but the meaning is all there though of what he said to me about this reality, and that is what counts.

There are times, like anyone that I wish I could have an easier path than working at it, and persistence. Is there really an easy path though without somehow paying the price for eternal greatness? Even Jesus Christ, Mohandas/Mahatma Gandhi and Gautama Buddha said a resounding never through their actions and work. Nixon, Trump and Bill Clinton said "yes", but look what they did to say "yes": Scandals, headaches, "Wag the Dog" type war pageantry and dirty tricks that involve well-hidden high crimes and misdemeanours. Either way, you or I cannot avoid it: The price for real. After all, it may seem more fun and easy to be phony, but, if you want it for real, you have definitely got to pay the cost without flinching, with full persistence; warts, work and all. That is the final verdict I have on reality. I may feel frustrated at times, indeed, I do not let it get the best of me, I go with that final verdict.

The Deal, And I Do Not Mean Poker Playing Cards, I Mean Life Itself

Life is a wild card or a "joker card" at best. What I mean is, the greatest opportunities come as seemingly valueless "wild cards" of opportunity that look like work, but really are great opportunities in the finest disguises. When I think about my life, that really is how it has been, opportunities always come dressed in work clothes "looking like a bum" and then ending up the greatest thing of all.

As I am writing this article, I am listening to Brian Tracy talk about the Law of Attraction on one of his programs I bought a little while ago. I totally agree with what he is saying in the program, but I would also like to say this: We must recognize opportunity whatever form it may come in, we must be alert always, that is the ultimate mental nutrition in a positive sense. That also means, that we must embrace the "wild cards" of opportunity more than the "aces" and "royal flushes" in life although those more obvious cards may "look better" on the surface, some of the best opportunities to put it the way William Clement Stone put it come as the most horrible problems and you find the best opportunities within them.

Most of my family, including my Dad and only sister has left the Earth except for my Mother and a few other family, and I am not married and am not interested in having any children. I mention this not to feel sorry for myself or anything, but, I actually see this all as a genuine opportunity for reliance on myself and the ultimate "joker card" opportunity in life to turn it all around and make things work for myself instead of a "deep liability". I could "cry a tear in my beer over it" and feel genuinely sorry for myself. But, instead I am a "hard-working dud" who does not drink, smoke, "party" or whatever.

I genuinely see the opportunities in life and reality for what they are, when they do come. Sure, I complain sometimes, but inside I am always looking for the deep good in everything, and I do mean everything. As is said in a poker game, the wild card worth everything could be anywhere and everywhere, so bluff your style and win the hand as the ultimate opportunity in life always. Who knows, it may be? After all, poker is a realistic game of guts, money management and disciplined looking for and seizing opportunity, and ultimately, so is life. I do not mean be dishonest, I do mean honestly take opportunity, manage well and you will get somewhere great.

Sometimes, I mention an old 1983 movie called "Eddie and the Cruisers" and its sequel that came out in 1989. The character Eddie Wilson, said in a line in the original first movie and it predicted the outcome of both the original movie and its sequel that showed what happened after the character Eddie Wilson faked his death in the first movie, that life and existence paths are different from each other, but not better than each other, and that is real and honest, but, I would like to say this: Genuine opportunity comes as a "wild card" that looks like work, it is not better than the "ace", the "two pair" or the "royal flush", just different. People lose and win all the time, whatever the hand. If played improperly, you lose, even if you have a winning hand.

If played properly, you win, even if you seemingly have a losing hand. With that said: Life is the deal, and reality is the hand. It does not matter what you get in the deal, it is how you play the whole game properly or improperly. That is the reality

Developing the Leader Within You!

Here is an insightful video about developing yourself and becoming a more disciplined person to be able to do what you want with total clarity and determination.

Life Is Not About Finding Yourself But Creating Yourself

Life is how we make it. Be that as it may, but many people are experiencing their lives along these lines. Regardless of whether deliberately or unknowingly we disengaged from our capacity, substance and soul to wind up feeling at some degree lost. Possibly it happens when we appear to have all that we need superficially; cash, assets, achievement, yet we need satisfaction at the most profound level.

At some instances, we feel lost and confounded along these lines, it is our awareness to wake us up to the truth of who we truly are; divine limitless creatures that are incredible, unfathomable. The saddest part is that individuals may never tune in to this call from soul. A significant number of us are so moulded, so sleeping to our own stunning force that it's excessively startling. Rather than grasping our capacity, we deviated our cognizance.

On the other hand, when we are open and responsive to revealing our fullest potential, we increase an awesome chance to gain proficiency with the embodiment of what it genuinely intends to make our life. The way we pick here is the thing that decides the course of our future, and influences our capacity to genuinely venture into our most noteworthy conceivable articulation. The single greatest change we can grasp now in our lives is to assume radical liability for who and where we are now.

From this point onward, we become open to development, extension and the fixing of the entirety of the constrained perspectives and being we have utilized before. Assuming liability for your life along these lines takes HUGE measures of mental fortitude. It might be awkward on occasion to decide to be the sensible maker of our reality, since it implies there is never again any other person to blame for the things we don't care for. What is unmistakably increasingly awkward however is carrying on with an actual existence path underneath our potential since we never had the mental fortitude to assume liability for our lives.

Every individual holds a different perspective about life due to our distinct way of thinking and attitude towards life. I believe it's up to us to create our role in it. Life is all about discovering our true self. It is high time to stop finding yourself and go ahead to creating yourself.

In fact, we lose our true essence because we want our society to accept us, so we change, and compromise. But when we spend few moments to reflect, we realized that it is important that we create our own identity. Every choice we make matters. To shape our lives like the way we want it, we need to make bold choices to achieve our goals even if it means taking the road less travelled. We need to make decisions that bring us closer to our goals of creating a name for ourselves.

We are the directors of our life and it's up to us to decide what role we want to follow and create an incredible story.

What Have You Done for "YOU" Lately

There was a popular song that came out in 1986 and was recorded by Janet Jackson with the title of "What Have You Done for ME Lately?" Just sit back and let that title sink in a minute. It could conjure up all kinds of thoughts... Is the writer saying that they feel neglected because no one ever does anything for "them"... or is the writer being selfish and demanding and wanting more, more and more done for THEM? Just trying to wrap our minds around it could take all day, but let's take a different route.

Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to please and do for other people that we put ourselves, our needs and our wants on the back burner. That's in our DNA right? We instinctively try to think of others first and ourselves somewhere around... let's just say "LAST!" Is this healthy? Is this automatic? Is this what we feel what we need to do because that's the way we have always done it?

No - Yes - No. Somewhere in there, we need to stick a little time, effort and planning for US! If you have ever seen the movie where the little girl had low esteem and heard her very good friend say over and over - "You are kind, you are smart, you are important" - then you know what everyone needs to hear.

How many people are we trying to please? Two? Fifteen? Eighty-Five? No matter the number that we may come up with, our number needs to be somewhere at the beginning. Caring for ourselves also needs to be just as thorough as caring and trying to please others. Every day we need to satisfy and nurture our need for exercise and excitement; for rest and relaxation; for challenge and communication; for a little just plain fun and silliness and pampering.

Without these, we may sink into that rut of ordinary, plain and dull. Who wants a friend like that? We are kind! We are smart! We are important! What's more, we need to never, ever forget it! Just as the flight attendant is forever harping at us to "take the oxygen first," we need to apply that to other aspects and areas of our life.

Most of those we interact with and care about need us to be able to smile, joke, stick a crazy emoji at the end of our text and most importantly laugh at ourselves as well as with others. That, my friends, is Friendship! We need to not only be a good caring friend to others, but we first need to make friends with and care for ourselves! Take the oxygen first!!!

The Secret Of Success Is To Do The Common Thing Uncommonly Well

There are many ways to succeed. The key is to focus on and do the things that need doing well to achieve it. If you want to be successful in business, work, hobby, or anything else, just do it better or differently than others.

People give too much emphasis on small details but often fail to follow through. Do you wonder why small details are so important today? This is because of the sophistication of the consumers. Looking after the details is a basic necessity for a business to survive.

Psychologically, the mental and moral effect of doing things correctly, and thoroughly can hardly be estimated because the processes are so subtle. However, everyone wants to succeed quickly. In our culture of instant gratification, waiting simply isn't an option for many people. But that the key to long-term success is to clearly communicate your vision.

Many people wonder how they can become successful. If we notice, successful people have integrity, a strong work ethic, a will to succeed, and resilience to keep working even when things aren't going well. They don't give up easily, rather they keep on moving forward regardless of the number of times they are knocked down.

Never confuse fame with success. Success cannot be coaxed or bribed; pay the price and it is yours. So, it's time to rise from failures. The measure of success is not whether you have a tough problem to deal with, but whether it's the same problem you had last year. So, having once decided to achieve a certain task, achieve it at all costs. Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than anything.

Do you know why a successful man is prosperous? It's due to the fact that he has developed ninety-five percent of his ability. The failure is poor because only five percent of his natural talents have been utilized. To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you even if it means doing things uncommonly well.

Success is relative because it is what we can do out of the mess we have made of things. If cannot use your talent, definitely you failed. If you use only half of your talent, then, you half-failed. But, if you have a talent and learn how to utilize it at its maximum level, you can gloriously succeed and enjoy victory only a few men ever experience.

But the question is, are you tired of trying one more time to achieve your desired success in life? Are you easily discouraged by constant failures or mistakes? Have you lost hope because things don't go as you expected? Don't give up yet, it is not yet too late because everything in life has its own phase.

You get whatever accomplishment you want by doing the common thing uncommonly well.

What Is Success to You?

What is Success to You?

Success. A word familiar to us all but elusive at best. Not everyone has the same definition of success and not all of us are truly living the lives we desire or experiencing the success we want. When it comes to business and financial matters having a success attitude plays a big part. The only way to reach your dreams is to believe in your heart that those dreams are meant to come to pass.

I wish there was some boilerplate recipe for success that worked every time. Sadly there isn't. Now there are principles and guidelines we can follow to help us along our journey which you will see as we continue talking about this subject. But the real key to finding success is to understand that life is a journey and every incident you encounter is doing one of two things for you; either it is drawing you closer to your definition of success or pulling you away. You have to figure out which is which so you can make sound decisions.

Below are some characteristics of success which are helpful to remember on your journey;

See the goal clearly in front of you - the journey to success begins with a goal. Unless we have something we are working towards there is no motivation to make to make it so. Goals provide a benchmark which we can measure. Successful people are goal oriented and tasks focused. They discover what they want out of life and then perform tasks that will help them get there. You cannot be successful with no goal. These goals must be written and specific to your dreams for your life.

Understand the path to achieving your Goals is lined with difficulties- it would be nice if every day was filled with nothing but sunshine and roses. But life is not like that. Into every life a little rain must fall. This causes even the best of us to get discouraged by the challenges of our day. When you start on a journey to Success and hit obstacles you are prepared for them because you knew beforehand they were going to happen.

Create a picture of yourself that reflects your perception of yourself - do you see yourself in a positive or negative light? A positive perspective will make your future brighter.

Clear you mind of all unbelief - it is easy to believe you will fail. To be successful you must clear your mind of doubts and unbelief about your ability to be successful.

Embrace the obstacles you have come to understand exist- every journey to being successful will have some obstacles along the way. The focus must be on embracing the obstacles while ploughing through them. Nothing and no one must prevent you from realizing your dreams.

Stay focused on the goals you set - the prize at the end of the race is the only reason to be in the race. Keep your eyes on why you are in the race in the first place.

Show everyone, including yourself, that you can do all things - being confident in your ability to succeed goes a long way in being successful.

Don't believe the lie that success only belongs to a select few. You have as much of a right to be a success as anyone else.
